Mother-In-Law Beef with Gravy
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- ½ onion; diced
- ½ stalk celery; diced
- ½ teaspoon garlic; minced
- 1 tbsp. oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt; to taste
- Pepper; to taste
- ½ cup flour
- Water
Instructions
- 1. In a bowl, mix the ground beef by hand with the cumin, salt, and pepper.
- 2. Saute the onion and celery in a little bit of oil in a skillet until soft. Add garlic and sauté about 30 seconds more.
- 3. Add the meat mixture to the skillet and cook thoroughly. Drain the fat and lower the heat.
- 4. Sprinkle flour over the meat until lightly coated all over. Add water and stir until a nice, moist gravy forms.
- 5. Serve with ranch style beans, mashed potatoes, and homemade tortillas.
