Korean Beef (Ground Beef)
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup sliced peppers and onion (optional)
- 1 cup white rice (cooked) or 1 cup brown rice (cooked)
- 3 garlic cloves, minced (or 1/2 teaspoon)
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (reduced-sodium if desired)
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (less or more for desired amount, will change spicy level)
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, saute sliced onions and peppers in a small amount of butter.
- In large saucepan, crumble ground beef under medium heat. Add minced garlic to the beef. Stir and cook until brown. When vegetables at desired tenderness, add to beef mixture. Stir occasionally.
- In a medium mixing bowl, add brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, pepper, crushed red pepper and ground ginger. Whisk ingredients.
- When ground beef is fully cooked, pour sauce into the pan. Reduce heat to low and simmer for additional 2-3 minutes.
- In a serving bowl, add cooked rice, then top with ground beef and sauce. Enjoy!
